Matt's Story

During National Apprenticeship Week, we want to celebrate our first apprentice – Matt.

Matt has been with us a year and he will be a tough act to follow!
He has worked so hard, sorting donations and replenishing the shelves, receiving donations from the public, and ordering fresh food deliveries.

Matt is always willing to help and has become a valuable member of our ever growing team.
He is also a Wolves fan – so gets involved in the all the post-match analysis chats!!

Here is Matt’s view if his experience with us:

‘Having been an apprentice at The Well for the past year I can say that it has been a valuable and positive experience for me in many ways.

The Well has been a friendly and welcoming environment to work in and my colleagues there couldn’t have made it easier to settle in.

During my time as an apprentice, I have learned so much about foodbanks, warehousing, charities, and the world of work.

I have been able to get a full First Aid Training certificate which The Well funded and provided as part of my apprenticeship, as well the opportunity to experience all parts of working/volunteering at the foodbank such as delivering food parcels and collecting donations from local supermarkets.’
